These unfortunately will be on my "do not grow again" list. I planted 5 varieties of beans this year and all are doing fantastic, including these ones. They are indeed very highly productive, but stay so much smaller and are the fastest to start getting woody, and the flavor is very "meh" compared to everything else im growing. I was hoping to find a replacement for "calima" that I was growing years ago.
If your looking for something small and very uniform and highly productive this still could be a good option for you. I am very very happy with gold rush which was also new for me this year.
Absolute fantastic variety. I have been growing this one for a few years and it produces gigantic, delicious, sweet plants. I just pulled a plant out of my garden that was over 2.5kg and even at that size it was still sweet and not at all woody.
Gipsy Queen is a unique colour that has really enhanced my springtime garden. I’ve planted it around “Pink Charm” daffodils and “Serano” tulips. The colour shift from peachy to light pink as it fades is very striking. A nice complement to the blues, pinks and purples of the other hyacinths.
The actual beans are pretty good, but I have had three different types of beans growing from the same packet of Seychelles. One green variety that I'm assuming is Seychelles since it looks like the picture, another is another green pole bean but a flat variety, and the last was a yellow bush bean. It's a bit disappointing to have this happen from such a respected and established company.
