Certified Organic Seeds
West Coast Seeds proudly offers Certified Organic varieties, ensuring they meet the stringent standards of the Pacific Agricultural Certification Society (PACS). Our PACS registration number is 16-205, and we maintain organic certification for all seeds labeled as such. We go the extra mile by verifying organic certificates from every supplier we partner with and conducting thorough quality assurance checks.
This guarantees no contamination risks during handling and a Clear distinction between organic and non-organic seeds.

No Genetically Engineered Seeds
NO GENETICALLY ENGINEERED SEEDS
The short answer: Absolutely not!
West Coast Seeds is committed to the Safe Seed Pledge and never sells Genetically Engineered Organisms (GEOs), including seeds developed through emerging gene-editing technologies like CRISPR. Unlike traditional hybridization, these techniques can introduce genes from unrelated species or directly alter DNA in ways that raise ethical and environmental concerns.Β We choose to support agricultural progress that protects genetic integrity and biodiversity.Β For more details, explore the definitions of GEOs, GMOs, and gene editing in our glossary.
Seed Counts for Gardeners and Growers
We are proud to offer seeds of the highest quality. Our seeds-per-gram estimates are provided to help you plan your garden or farm. However, seed counts can vary between harvests due to natural factors. To ensure accuracy, seeds are carefully packed by weight or count. While the numbers are estimates, they are designed to give you confidence in your planning.
Chemical-Free Seeds
We are committed to keeping our seeds pure and natural. They are always untreated, ensuring they remain raw, safe for the environment, and free of chemicals. In rare cases where seeds are "pelleted" for easier handling, only non-toxic, eco-friendly materials like clay or molasses are used. Additionally, we strongly oppose harmful treatments like neonicotinoids, which have been linked to environmental damage and declining bee populations.
Germination Standards
Your success is our priority. Each seed is carefully tested for germination rates, seed vigor, and the absence of weed seeds. We follow the standards set by the Commercial Seed Analysts Association of Canada, and the lot number on each packet shows our commitment to quality.
While germination results may vary each year, our high standards remain consistent. For specific details, just refer to the lot number and reach out to us.
