The Purposeful You

Hi, I’m Tasha Medve, founder and creator of The Purposeful You, a garden and lifestyle blog dedicated to helping people grow their own food, herbs, and flowers with confidence. Through my online community @thepurposefulyou. I share practical tips, simple techniques, and seasonal inspiration to make gardening feel approachable and rewarding. I live on Vancouver Island, Canada, with my husband and two children.

I’m passionate about educating backyard gardeners to create sustainable gardens they truly love to grow and spend time in.I’m thrilled to share my tried-and-true West Coast seed collection, designed to empower vertical growing, simplify gardening, and support companion planting.

My love for vertical growing began a few years ago, and one of my favourite sights in the garden is a wall of peas grown from Alderman (also known as Tall Telephone) peas. I also grow a pumpkin arch with the Moranga variety. This collection features my favourite vertical varieties, including Sweet Million tomatoes, Organic Picolino cucumbers, and Sunset Runner Beans, which produce stunning salmon-coloured flowers. You’ll also find beginner-friendly favourites such as French Breakfast radishes, Nantes Coreless carrots, Dragon Tongue bush beans, Super Gourmet salad blend, and Peppermint Swish chard. To round out the collection, the flower selections include easy-to-grow, beneficial companions like marigolds, calendula, and borage, which help naturally manage garden pests.

You can also order my book, The Purposeful Gardener, here. Join my newsletter for all things gardening, recipes and intentional living at thepurposefulyou.com. I hope you find this collection meaningful to you and you’ll grow more food, more herbs and more flowers that bring you joy.
