Planting with Purpose
West Coast Seeds supports charities, schools, and non-profit organizations through our Community Roots initiatives.
See how we’re helping strengthen roots in communities across the globe.
Nothing compares to a summer day picking peas and berries in the warmth of the morning light.
Growing flowers and vegetables strengthens our physical and mental wellbeing. It provides a sense of accomplishment, reduces anxiety, and fills the mind with wonder. By working with non-profit organizations, charities, community-based education groups and schools, we hope to build beautiful garden spaces that give people a place to learn, socialize, and grow.
The groups we work with assist seniors, children, under-housed populations, people with challenges, and individuals with mental health and addiction issues. Many of the organizations we partner with use gardening as a way to teach fundamental life skills to their community. In addition, they use their harvests to give back — donating to local food banks, giving vegetables to community kitchens, and preparing healthy takeaway meals for others in need.
You may be eligible for a Seed Donation if you are:
• An educator looking for seeds for a school garden, classroom project, or for community education workshops.
• A charity or non-profit organization promoting organic gardening and growing practices.
• A community garden growing food to freely share with community based, non-profit organizations.
• An international non-profit organization advancing self-sufficient food production.
