Seed Germination Standards at West Coast Seeds

We’re committed to helping you grow with confidence. That’s why we share the annual germination test results for every active seed lot we sell.

  1. We maintain germination records for all active seed lots currently available to our customers.
  2. Samples are sent to a CFIA-certified labs for analysis before packing.
  3. Seeds must meet Canada No. 1 requirements and our own higher internal standards before they’re approved for sale.
  4. If a seed lot doesn’t meet standards, it's removed from inventory.
  5. Items with a Canada No. 1 germination standard "NA" mean that there is no Canada No. 1 germination standard for this seed type.
  6. Germination rates printed on packets are the most recent germination result prior to packing.
  7. View our Seed Longevity Chart to get an expectation of germination rates when storing seeds for multiple seasons.
