Rhubarb rhizomes are living root segments that will sprout a new plant in the first year. This saves a full year over starting rhubarb from seed. We recommend not to harvest during the first season so that the plant can become strong before the arrival of its first winter.

Ah, so far all the potato seedlings have sprouted above ground, and I've done my first hilling. The plants have a nice harvest green with bright markings on the leaves..so far so good and do look forward to some scrumous dishes in the fall -- yum!
