Ah, so far all the potato seedlings have sprouted above ground, and I've done my first hilling. The plants have a nice harvest green with bright markings on the leaves..so far so good and do look forward to some scrumous dishes in the fall -- yum!

Aconitum, or monkshood, is a traditional garden perennial with quite a stately look. It is a relatively tall plant that reaches about 1.2m (5'), with large clusters of hooded flowers that are exclusively pollinated by bumble bees. Monkshood contains several seriously toxic compounds, so no part of the plant should ever be eaten. It's a good idea to avoid direct skin contact with mature plants.
