The impact of a seed keeps growing at One Straw Society, with the help from West Coast Seeds.
We are One Straw Society, a registered charity with many avenues in building community food security on the Sunshine Coast, BC. Our mandate has remained to build a local, resilient and sustainable food system, one that starts from the soil up.
West Coast Seeds have been used in our realm of education. Their seeds have been shared through accessible workshops led by our local Seed Collective, as well as elementary school seeding workshops facilitated by our farm coordinator, Katy.
West Coast Seeds have also been used on our One Tiny Farm, where we grow food for our subsidized Local Foodbox program, and for the Sunshine Coast’s largest annual market seed exchange, Seeds of Spring. These events bring together our broader community and get everyone excited about growing food, all with the magic of a West Coast Seed.
