Greenways Land Trust is a registered charity and conservation organization in Campbell River that works to enhance the community through the creation and management of greenways networks, based on principles of stream and land stewardship. We act as an umbrella organization that works together with local stewardship groups, community organizations and local governments.
Greenways supports projects that work towards achieving our three program initiatives: Natural Areas Conservation, Community Outreach and the Stewardship Resource Centre. Additionally, we support the activities of streamkeepers and stewards.

Our mission is to restore, sustain and protect natural areas and critical habitats, particularly ecological and recreational greenways, for the benefit of our community.
Operating since 1996, Greenways continues to support volunteers, initiate projects and foster partnerships that work towards our goals and mission.
3 community gardens, 4-5 school gardens, several First Nations community gardens in Strathcona Regional District, 2 permaculture demonstration food forests, local free access seed libraries, a regional network of community food security partners including supportive housing, food banks, and food access organizations.

We hope to encourage more folks to grow their own food, devote more space to growing food and creating habitat for pollinators, insects, and birds, whether in their own backyards, or in community spaces.
Gardening empowers people of all walks of life, abilities, backgrounds, and passions to connect with nature and their community. Gardening is a great way to learn new skills, get gentle exercise and peaceful outdoor activity, and it serves as a great means of bringing people together who otherwise would not interact.
