Our Campus Farm was started in 2012 and was a combined effort between multiple faculties. It was created to bring the Edmonds College community direct access to organic, free food, and improve an under-utilized space. The farm’s primary mission is to grow food that is donated to the Campus Food Pantry; however, the site is also an amazing resource for students. The farm provides classes a place to study and research, and there are ample service learning opportunities for students.

The Campus Food Pantry serves 250 students each week. I am thrilled to help those facing food insecurity the ability to eat healthy fresh produce that they otherwise would not be able to afford. Healthy minds start with healthy bodies.

Gardening improves the mental and physical health of those involved. Students who are able to use our space get the mental benefits of getting their hands dirty and serving a purpose with their volunteer or class time. Those that we are able to share food with benefit greatly by experiencing higher nutrition and better tasting food that they might otherwise be partaking in.

It's amazing how much food you can grow on a small urban farm when you work hard!
