Growing in Cochrane area is challenging. The Chinooks and the short growing season make it very challenging to be a successful gardener. C&DHS developed in order for people to help each other and learn how to garden in our unpredictable growing conditions.
C&DHS has a board of 8-9 and over 80 members. The Cochrane Community gardeners have over 30 gardeners. Every year the C&DHS chooses two recipients and donates the proceeds of our plant sales.
Helping to create beauty and spending time outdoors is good for our mental health. Growing healthy local food for our neighbours is good for our planet and our health.
