Arrowhead Clubhouse is an inclusive space for people living with longterm mental health issues. The Garden Crew meets weekly to jointly decide on garden projects and contribute time, passion and labour to these projects. We grow food for the Clubhouse kitchen, which offers free hot lunch Monday-Friday to any member of the community, totaling on average 175 lunches a week. We grow herbs, garlic, beans, peas, tomatoes, peppers, squash, potatoes, spinach. We also grow flowers for pollinators and have a memorial garden for the members who we've lost and who we continue to miss.

Arrowhead Clubhouse has 392 members but the joys of the accessible garden extend to the greater community as does the food we grow here.

Arrowhead Community Garden offers the peace and positivity that results from being out in nature and from actively participating in growing a garden. Oftentimes, people living with mental health illnesses and those living in poverty are stigmatized and isolated from outdoor activities and environmental stewardship.

The Arrowhead community is a family of strong, compassionate, and resilient people. The garden offers a place to gather and grow with joy, laughter, fun, tears, and all the messiness that comes from being gardeners and humans. We are creating a garden that welcomes all members of the local community, whether they want to contribute to the work or sit and enjoy the space or plant a flower for a lost loved one.

The community served by the garden includes seniors and those who are precariously housed and who have substance use disorders; all live in poverty.
