Coir Pellets seed starter are an eco-friendly alternative to peat-based seedling pellets. These ones are made from highly compacted, finely milled coir - a material rendered from coconut fibre. The coir is housed within a biodegradable net. When you water the pellets, they expand and stand upright, forming a rounded cylinder. A seed can be placed on top, or pushed into, the Coir Pellet seed starter and left to germinate in peace. Like peat, coir has the ability to hold a lot of moisture, so they tend not to dry out unless they are neglected. But unlike peat, coir is pH neutral. The Coir Pellets seed starter is intended to be potted on or transplanted directly into the garden where it will disintegrate in the soil. This prevents root disturbance and can reduce transplant shock.
