The Society was incorporated in 1984 as a charitable organization with the purpose of supporting those with a palliative diagnosis, their loved ones and the bereaved. Initially formed as a small volunteer organization with a visiting program, the Society is currently recognized as a leader in the development and delivery of comprehensive hospice palliative care services.

We operate Hospice House, a 12-bed palliative care facility in Vernon. Β Programs and services are offered to citizens of the North Okanagan. Β Annually we serve approximately 1,000 people through all our services and programs.

We want to create a culture that embraces compassion, connection, and care β€” not just at the end of life, but throughout it. Whether it's through fresh vegetables grown with love, quiet moments in a peaceful space, or the simple act of sharing a meal, we are committed to making a meaningful difference in how our community experiences care, grief, and support.

Our dedicated volunteers spend countless hours tending to the garden with care and love. Their efforts not only help things grow β€” they create a peaceful, beautiful space for residents and families to enjoy.

Fresh vegetables from the garden are a highlight for our residents, who enjoy watching the plants grow and sampling the harvest. And in our kitchen, our cooks love incorporating these homegrown ingredients into nourishing meals made with heart.

Hospice isn’t just for patients β€” it’s for families, caregivers, and the entire circle of love that surrounds them. Β We have a strong grief and bereavement program to support. Β We also have over 50 volunteers who help us in the house, in the garden and at our events. Β We recently introduced our hospice at home program which allows people to receive hospice care in their home.
