Radicchio and endive are very easy to grow, but remain unfamiliar to many North American gardeners. Like the mustard greens from Asia, the chicory group from Europe really deserve to be explored. Try cutting a whole radicchio head in quarters… Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt & pepper. Then grill the pieces on the barbecue until soft. Drip some balsamic vinegar on these and serve as a warm salad – a summertime delicacy!
