An espaliered plant is a fruit or ornamental tree that has been trained and pruned to grow flat, usually against a wall and in a clear pattern. Espalier plants are ideal for fruit production in small spaces. Although these plants produce less fruit than their orchard cousins, the fruit is usually larger and better formed.
