This bright yellow medium hot pepper grows to around 12cm (5″) long, with a conical, tapered shape. Hungarian Hot Wax pepper seeds produce compact plants up to 60cm (24″) in height. The fruit is smooth, waxy and bright yellow, but will mature to crimson if left on the plants. Early and widely adapted, this one does well in cool summers. It is productive in our customers’ gardens from Vancouver Island to Nova Scotia. At a relatively mild 5,000 – 10,000 SHU’s, Hungarian Hot Wax is one of the best for pickling, sliced or whole. Try a couple of plants in some three to five gallon containers on your patio.
Matures in 58-85 days. (Open-pollinated seeds)
