From the same breeding as Hampton, Buckley features the same deeply cut oak-leaf appearance, and matching dark coloured, flavourful leaves. Buckley Pelleted Organic lettuce seeds produce heads that grow in a tight, upright rosette with elongated stems for single-cut harvesting. Plant alternating rows with Hampton for an amazing looking lettuce patch. Buckley works as either full head or baby leaf lettuce, and develops its dark maroon colour early in the season. Plant short rows every couple of weeks from April to August for a constant harvest from late spring to early fall. Try some under low poly cover for winter growing.
Pelleted seeds require steady moisture during germination. The seed bed must be kept consistently moist in order to take advantage of the high germination rate. If the clay coating around each seed is allowed to dry out, it can result in poor germination.
