CERTIFIED ORGANIC! Avena sativa. Protect garden soil, make some organic oatmeal, and fight weeds over the winter. As a cover crop, Cayuse oats organic has a lot going for it. This is the perfect crop to suppress weeds, build soil, and prevent erosion. Oats die back naturally in winter and do not self-sow. Cayuse is an heirloom oat first developed in Washington state in the 1950s. It has larger grains, and matures a bit later than the conventional oats we carry. The edible grains mature at 100 to 120 days. Hardy to Zone 8: -12°C (10°F). 500g of oats seeds covers approximately 40m² (438 square feet).
