Lobelia erinus. Fantastic as an edger, in pots, hanging baskets, or in large mass plantings, Crystal Palace Lobelia is a dwarf, compact variety that grows to only 20cm (8″) in low clumps. Deep purple/blue flowers appear from spring to the first hard frost. Plant Crystal Palace Lobelia seeds in full sun or partial shade, in hanging baskets, window boxes, or tucked in between garden vegetables. The deep purple colour contrasts well with red and yellow flowering plants and grasses, and will attract pollinators to the area. Blue edging Lobelia exists in many cultivars, but is native to southern Africa, from Malawi, Namibia, and South Africa.
