Tuberose is the colloquial name given to members of the genus Polianthes. It’s not a contraction of the words “tube” and “rose,” but rather a variation on the species name tuberosa, which refers to the tuberous roots. And that’s what makes it an excellent spring planting flower bulb. The Pearl Tuberose is ideal as fragrant cut flowers. It grows to a height of 100cm (40″), blooming from late July on. Coastal gardeners will love that it is highly resistant to deer. Plant in full sun to partial shade, and enjoy the heady perfume throughout the summer. Two tubers per package.
