Plant Jan Bos prepared hyacinth bulbs in containers on September 30, and enjoy dark pink blooms indoors by Xmas. Prepared hyacinth bulbs have been treated by keeping them cool for a period. They can be forced for winter blooming in December and January by keeping them in a dark spot for eight weeks at around 9°C (48°F). Bring them indoors at that point and the room temperature will cause quick growth and blooming in two to three weeks. They can also be grown without soil in a shallow tray of water. Mix in some marbles or glass chips for a decorative look. This hyacinth grows to about 25cm (10″) tall. Three bulbs per pack.
