Different genetic traits cause tulip flowers to show particular colours, shapes, and textures. Black Parrot Tulip has been selected over years of breeding to feature the frilled petal edges and contorted shape that is unique to the Parrot tulip series. It’s also an unusually dark claret purple colour on upright 50cm (20″) stems that makes it very attractive as a cut flower. These tulips will perform in the sun or partial shade, and they’re hardy to Zone 4. Our flower bulbs for fall planting ship in September through fall while supplies last.
