Selectively bred for size, form, and colour, Dahlia Clyde's Choice is part of the Dinner Plate Series, with massive flowers that can be 20cm (8") wide. These grow atop upright plants that will reach 90cm (36") in height in a single season. Blooming from August to first frost, they make incredible cut flowers. Dahlias are not frost hardy, so they need to be lifted in the fall and stored over winter for planting the following spring. Our bulbs ship from March through spring while supplies last.
Package contains 1 tuber.
* Sold out for 2019.
Bulbs are easy to plant and easy to grow. Flower Bulbs are broken down into two very general groups – Fall planting bulbs benefit from sitting in cold soil. Spring planting bulbs do not require cold soil to trigger flowering. Fall planting bulbs can be planted any time between late September and January, but most gardeners plant fall bulbs in October and November, about the same time you would plant garlic. Fall planting bulbs will bloom the following spring and early summer. Spring planting bulbs (we don’t have any at this time), should be sunk into the ground in March and April. They tend to bloom later in the spring, into mid-summer. Follow along with this handy How to Grow Bulbs Guide and grow some colour.
