Coreopsis is a modest genus of flowering annuals and perennials from the sunflower family that are united by their bright yellow flowers. Also known as Tickseed, the plants tend to be drought tolerant and largely care free. Aside from deadheading the spent flowers (which will prolong the bloom period) they need little attention. Clumps of the perennial varieties can be propagated by division every two to three years.
