Vol. November 2012 Good Growing News!

We are excited to announce the imminent arrival of our 2013 Catalogue & Gardening Guide. To celebrate our 30th year in business, we now offer more varieties of heirloom, open pollinated, untreated, non-GE seeds than ever before. The West Coast Seeds & Gardening Guide offers specific advice on growing vegetables, herbs, and flowers from seed here in south coastal BC, with enough general information that you’ll have better success no matter where you garden. If you’re not on our annual mailing list, please request a catalogue, and we’ll send you one in the mail.

You may want to make an evening of it, and visit many other independent retailers here in Ladner who will be taking part in this fun annual event.

Ladner Village is just 30 minutes south of Vancouver, nestled between farmland and the mouth of the Fraser River. Within walking distance of our retail store are restaurants and cafes, galleries, and specialty shops. Please join us on the 30th, and learn more about the village

November Features

We love these new flexible plastic buckets. Made in Spain from food-grade plastic, they are frost and UV resistant, and incredibly sturdy. Use them in the garden, for storage, for any indoor/outdoor cleaning job. Learn more about our new Tubtrug Set.
Caring for Garden Tools!
Among the most important fall chores is taking care of your valuable garden tools. You can add years to the life of your hand tools, secateurs, hose nozzles, and irrigation tools just by giving them a little care. We have some suggestions you may not have thought of.
Seed of the Month!
Certified Organic Holy Basil seeds are now available from West Coast Seeds. Grow Holy Basil (sometimes known as Tulsi) in containers or in the warmest part of your herb bed. Use Holy Basil as a culinary or medicinal herb, as has been done for centuries!
Custom Seed Packets!
West Coast Seeds can print personalized seed packages for a wide range of individuals and organizations. Use them as party favors, or for gifts at weddings, baby showers, memorials–any occasion you want to live on in memory. Seed packets also make ideal corporate promotion handouts because bulk printing makes them even more economical.

Our packages are printed on 100% recycled, FSC-certified paper, using vegetable dyes, so they’re fully compostable. You can supply the artwork and message, or choose from a wide range of pre-printed packets, and simply provide the text. Find out more by downloading our Custom Printing pdf.
