Amsterdam Garden Centre is a family operated business that started 41 years ago growing Christmas cactus and bedding plants for wholesale. A few years later, their first retail greenhouse space was built to serve an enthusiastic gardening community in Pitt Meadows, who wanted a place to buy quality plants. The team at Amsterdam Garden Centre pride themselves on their community spirit, bringing in fresh products each week based on their customers’ feedback.

This garden centre is also known for its seminars and hands-on workshops, which they will continue hosting once it is safe to do so. In place of their usual holiday events, this season they are featuring take-home DIY wreath kits with seven different styles that can be re-created at home.

Staff are passionate about offering organic and locally grown plants as much as possible and encouraging their community to grow their own food. They grow all their own bedding and vegetable plants, and have eliminated the use of pesticides and growth regulators. It’s important to them that gardeners not only buy high-quality products, but receive education about sustainable gardening. They have strong hopes that by sharing their knowledge it can be passed on to children for generations to come.

When it comes to favourite garden foods and recipes, the team has a lot of recommendations!
