Growers like the thicker, glossy, darker-green leaves that form a heavy bunch and tolerate damp conditions well. Leaves are shorter and held more upright than Valgros. Also known as Lamb's Lettuce, Corn Salad, and Mache, the small, pretty, tender green leaves of this green form a rosette that is very cold hardy. It has a mild and nutty flavour anad can be planted early spring and gain in late August. Seeds sprout best in cool, moist soil. Sow thinly 1cm (1/2") deep in rows 30cm (1') apart. Thing to 5cm (2") or broadcast seeds about 2.5cm (1") apart. Mildew tolerant. Matures in 50 days. (open seed pollinated)
