Red Deer Tongue

The long, pointed leaves of this Deer Tongue variety are edged with red. It makes a wonderful addition to salads because of the rich flavour and robust texture of the leaves. It is easy to pick individual leaves or harvest the whole plant. It is slow to bolt and requires little care. Matures in 75 days. (open pollinated seeds)

The easiest to grow! Leaves from looseleaf lettuces can be picked as baby leaves each day for your salads if you plant them about 10cm (4") apart. Or, space 25cm (10") apart for full-sized leaves.
