Black Krim Organic
Certified organic! Wonderful rich Heritage Black Krim tomatoes are dark red, almost brown on top, and very juicy inside. They have a sweet, almost smoky flavour. These remarkable fruits are 7.5-10cm (3-4") in diameter and soft and thin-skinned on vigorous plants. It is hard to find the dark fruit growing in the big plants! Black Krim continues to be a local favorite here in Delta. This variety requires more heat and time to mature completely.

I find it quite a challenge to get tomatoes to ripen in my Tsawwassen garden. This year I planted some large pots with tomato plants started very early and set them in the sunniest spot in our yard. The one that yielded best and earliest was Black Krim, and it won our top taste award too. Pungent, juicy and sweet; fabulous tomato flavour! We will grow a whole bunch of these next year.
Be prepared though, for the ugliest tomato you have ever seen! Deeply ribbed and splotched heavily with brown-green, and with brown-green guts as well; at first we thought the fruits were rotten, but no, they just LOOK rotten. The flavour was outstanding. |
