Bred for French farmers' markets, Red Butterworth has been popular for years now. Heavy, firm heads have lovely pale hearts and leaves are dark green with a very pretty red-brown overlay. It is tip-burn resistant and heads will mature all at once. This variety is recommended for market gardeners. Plant from early spring to mid-summer for a continuous harvest of high quality butterheads.
