The best heat resistance of any broccoli variety, so it holds very well in summer, and is particularly slow bolting. Also good in cool spring and fall weather. Uniform, domed heads are deep green and tasty, and resistant to powdery mildew.

Gypsy broccoli seeds planted indoors on April 2, 2011, transplanted to garden on May5, 2011, and began harvesting on July 10th. Gypsy heads are large and flavourful when spring sown and harvested during the second and third weeks of July.
