Developed in 1978, this UC157 F1 asparagus is one of the most popular in the world. Although it prefers warmer weather and milder winters, it can be grown successfully here on the Coast if mulched in cold winters. Early spears that are uniform light green with tight, tapering heads. Superior resistance to rust and fusarium root rot. The seeds are more expensive, but with improved results from highly productive and reliable plants. (hybrid seeds)
