Matucana
These most unusual ITALIAN HERITAGE sweet peas are bi-coloured violet and deep maroon. Matcuna is thought to be one of the first sweet peas to be introduced to Britain in 1700 by a Sicilian Monk, Franciscus Cupani. Matucana sweet peas have an intoxicating scent and smaller flowers than many modern varieties that bloom over a long period. Grow some history. This sweet pea is sure to please!

These sweetpeas were showstoppers in my garden, and now all my neighbours are asking for seeds. The flowers themselves are gorgeous and smell so wonderful. I had masses of flowers and now have many many seeds, even after the deer ate a few vines for dinner. |
