Pansies and Violas

Bloom time: All summer in mild climates, flagging in the heat of mid-summer. V. x wittrockiana will bloom all winter in Zones 7-9.

Violas and pansies are instantly recognizable for their coloured markings or "faces." Bright and sunny, they provide colour in winter and spring, and are effective planted en masse, in containers, or as ground cover for spring bulbs. (Family: Violet, Violaceae)
