Dill

The leaves and seeds of dill perk up everything from soup to pickles. The flower heads of dill are one of the very best nectar sources for beneficial insects in the garden. For use in dill pickles plant dill one week before cucumbers and then plant again several times for a continuous supply all summer. Sow seeds outdoors, in clumps, barely cover seed, thin to 10cm (4") apart in rows 45cm (18") apart. Germinates in 10-14 days. Keep moist and well weeded. (Family: Carrot, Apiaceae)
