Runner beans are botanically different than regular pole beans. They prefer cool summer weather and will drop their blossoms if it gets too hot! They also need more moisture and cool roots all summer. Unlike snap beans, runner beans require pollination by bees to set seed. Fat, slightly fuzzy pods have a richer, beanier flavour than snap green beans.
This fine black powder contains beneficial micro-rganisms that attach to roots of legumes such as peas and beans. They create swellings on the roots that make atmospheric nitrogen available to plants for their growth instead of from the soil or purchased nitrogen fertiliser. Wet the seeds in a bowl outside, with 1/4 teaspoon water to 56 grams of seed (3 Tablespoons to 500 grams, 1 cup water to 55lbs seed) and add the inoculant powder. Use the moistened seed within 24 hours. Please keep the inoculant package cool, since it contains a living organism.

White Emergo
Clear white flowers adorn vigorous climbing plants. White Emergo will often produce better yields and smoother pods through the heat of the summer than the red-flowered varieties. These beans will need more warmth to sprout in the spring but will continue until frost hits in the fall. The green beans are good for freezing and the mature white seeds can be used as a dry bean in soups and stews. Matures in 75 days. (open pollinated seeds)
