Radishes
A member of the cole family, radishes have the same anticancer properties as broccoli and cabbage. The green leaves are good cooked and are high in beta carotene. Radishes were cultivated in acient times. The Egyptians fed them to the slaves who built the pyramids. In England they were known from the mid 1500's and used for various medicinal purposes including the treatment of kidney problems.
Altaglobe
The large, deep cherry-red, smooth, and perfectly round roots are a visual and taste treat. Dark-green tops are short and tidy for neat bunching. It has good disease resistance and holds in the garden without becoming woody.

Amethyst
Amethyst is an unusual, bright-purple skinned radish with very tasty white flesh. Successive plantings every two weeks or so allows for harvests from April to October. The roots of Amethyst are slow to turn woody. Easy to grow and spectacular on the market table.

Black Spanish Round
This winter-hardy HEIRLOOM is a distinctive black colour on the outside with a milky white and tender interior that packs a bit of bite. Plant in mid to late summer and eat when it is the size of a quarter. Space 8-10cm (3-4") apart.

French Breakfast
Red at the top with white blunt tips, this popular HEIRLOOM radish is 5cm (2") long and perfect for munching and slicing. It grows well from spring through summer with large healthy tops. Gather and refrigerate for best storage.

Minowase Summer Cross
Raphanus sativus
Daikon radishes are large and require deeply prepared soil, as the long ones can grow to be over 30cm (12") long. Sow and grow as you would turnips, thinning them to 15–20cm (6–8") apart. At each cultivation, push the soil over the top of the root. Slice them for stir-fries and salads, cooking, or pickling. Flavour is milder when grown to maturity in fall, in light soil, and with good irrigation. One of the best Daikon radishes for summer, Minowase Summer Cross Chinese radish has white roots that are 15-20 inches long and 2.5" in diameter. The pure white flesh is excellent for salads, sandwiches, cooking, and pickling.

Ping Pong
Sure enough, Ping Pong radishes are all white on the outside and about the size of a ping pong ball. Great uniformity with nice texture and flavour. Mixed with red and purple skinned varieties in a salad, they look spectacular. Eyecatching white radishes for the market table.

Plum Purple Organic
