Pumpkins
What do you get if you divide the circumference
of a pumpkin by its diameter?
Pumpkin pi.
Pumpkins are closely related to winter squash and sometimes share the same botanical classifications. They are easy and fun to grow vegetables that will dot your yard with bright, round orange and white fruits that can be used in pumpkin soups, pumpkin pies, puddings, and desserts. Whether your pumpkins become jack-o-lanterns or displays as gourds hiding in a garden of green. Pumpkins are sure to delight. Choose from our selection of open pollinated, hybrid and Heirloom seeds. Rouge Vif d'Etamps the "Cinderella" pumpkin makes for wonderful dreams.
Big Moon
C. maxima
Really big pale-orange pumpkins with wide ribs on long sprawling vines, the aptly-named Big Moon is one of the largest pumpkins, with fruit reaching up to 90kg (200lb) for competitions!

Earlipack
C. pepo
Large, 5-9kg (12-20 lb) pumpkins are borne on 2m (6') vines. Great colour and flavour, uniform size and shape, and strong dark green handles make them perfect for market growing.

Galeux d'Eysines
(C. maxima)
A lovely French Heirloom pumpkin with salmon coloured skin covered in peanut-like warts caused by sugar swelling in the skins. The somewhat flattened fruits average 7-10kg (10-15 lbs) each and can store for up to 6 months. Simply the best smooth texture of all the pumpkins!

Howden
C. pepo
The best-selling large pumpkin in America, grown by many for the Halloween trade, Howden makes an excellent choice for the home garden. Rich orange colour on deep-bodied, uniform fruits with sturdy handles and reliable flavour. Fruits swell to around 10kg (20-25 lbs).

Jack Be Little
C. pepo
Tiny, bright orange pumpkins with deeply ribbed skins, these true miniatures are mostly grown for decorative fall displays, but have a great flavour. Each of the abundant fruits is less that 500g (1 lb).

Jack Of All Trades
C. pepo
This versatile variety gives lots of dark-orange Jack-O-Lanterns that colour quickly on a tidy vine. The strong handles let kids gather and carve their prizes happily. This fairly round high quality, mid-sized 5–7kg (10–15lb) and 30–35cm (12-–14") charmer is also fine for pies.

Kakai
The classic striped Austrian type pumpkin with completely hull-less, green seeds for snacking, baking, or harvesting pumpkin seed oil. Fruits are smallish at only 2.2-3.6kg (5-8 lbs), but plants are productive, even in less than ideal conditions.
Matures in 100 days. (open pollinated seeds)
Little October
C. pepo
Several perfectly-shaped small pumpkins appear and ripen on compact plants. Little October matures early for an outstanding yield in a relatively small area. These pumpkins are reliably rounder and deeper than the sometimes flat miniature varieties, and they taste great, too.

Lumina PVP
C. maxima
Replaces Casper. Ghostly white pumpkins cannot hide on the long vines of this variety. Lumina has a smooth skin that kids can draw on with big marker pens, making them very kid-friendly jack-o-lantern candidates and the flesh is still good for cooking after Halloween. The pale fruits grow up to 4.5kg (10lb) and make a stunning display.

Neon
C. pepo
These beautifully shaped, bright orange pumpkins have strong, dark green handles and make perfect Jack-O-Lanterns. The plant is a semi-bush form, so it takes up less space in the garden, and produces higher yields per acre if grown commercially. Fruits mature early at 3.6-4kg (8-10 lb).

Prizewinner
C. maxima
The colossal, slightly squat but mostly round pumpkins are covered with smooth, glossy orange skin. They easily reach weights of 45kg (100lb)!

Rouge Vif d'Etampes

This centuries-old French HEIRLOOM is also charmingly known as Cinderella. Beautiful reddish-orange, flat pumpkins with deep ridges are the first to colour in the patch. Each medium sprawling vine gives about six lovely 9kg (20lb) treasures that are good for artistic carving, decorations, and winter meals.
