Florence Fennel
Florence fennel is not to be confused with fennel the herb. The wonderful fresh flavour of this easy-to-grow plant is prized in European cooking. Sometimes called Anise or Finocchio, it has a distinctive anise flavour which enlivens sandwiches and salads. The seeds are used as a mouth freshener and appetite suppressant. Seeds of fennel, along with the frilly leaves can be used to season breads and cakes.
Colossal
All the flavour and crunchy texture of the classic Finocchio fennel, but with truly large bulbs to 20cm (8") wide!
Matures in 90 days. (open pollinated seeds)
Selma Fino
The large, flat, white bulbs are a delicious treat. This superior strain of fennel will bulb reliably and doesn't bolt from a spring sowing.
