Alfalfa Meal

This fine milled alfalfa affects soil as though you had planted a cover crop. As a legume, alfalfa is naturally high in nitrogen. It also benefits soil microorganisms by helping them convert soil nutrients into soluable forms more available to plants. Finally, alfalfa contains the naturally occuring groth hormone, Triacontanol, which boosts the growth rates of seedlings. Alfalfa meal makes an excellent mulch for roses and other perennials, as well as a great additive for composts. Recommended application: 5-10kg/10 square meters. NPK: 4/1/1. Following are the measurements of the different sizes of bags. ZFL316A - 8 x 10 x 13 cm,  ZFL316B - 28 x 13 x 48 cm,  and ZFL319 - 16 x 16 x 17cm.

Beats Peat

For generations, peat moss mined from peat bogs has been a popular soil amendment. Peat increases the water-retaining ability of soils, and acidifies as it does. The trouble is that the world's peat bogs store and filter around 10% of the Earth's fresh water, and they sequester carbon from the atmosphere. Beats Peat absorbs and retains more water than peat, it improves aeration and drainage, and it adds carboniferous organic matter to the soil. Plus it's pH neutral and will not acidify. A portion of every purchase goes to the World Wildlife Fund.

Blood Meal 12~0~0

Another powerful organic source of nitrogen. A slaughterhouse by product, this powder can also be used as a rabbit repellent, and to kick start weak compositing systems.

Calcium

Soil and hydroponic gardeners use Technaflora's Liquid MagiCal (2-0-0) to supplement calcium (3.25%), magnesium (1.25%) and iron (0.11%) to their regular feeding schedule and promote healthy leaf growth and prevent blossom end rot in tomatoes. MagiCal is also great for treating these specific growth-inhibiting nutrient deficiencies and improving fruit density and nutritional content. Carrot Fertilizer

This1-9-3 granular formula fertilizer is designed specifically for carrots. Often times, regular balanced fertilizers produce odd results for carrots, as too much nitrogen can produce ample tops, but no roots. Most fertilizers don’t contain sufficient phosphorus for good carrot growth. But this blend of kelp meal, rock phosphate and greensand is perfectly formulated to give carrot plants what they want to produce nice uniform roots. Just make sure the soil is loose and free from rocks, and keep it adequately irrigated for really strong carrots. Apply 1kg per 2 square meters in fall, winter, or spring before you seed your carrot beds. This package is 14cm wide, 10cm tall, and 20cm long.

Certified Organic Alfalfa Meal 3~2~2

Alfalfa meal is one of the best products for increasing the overall nutritional value of compost. It contains a broad spectrum of important trace elements. Alfalfa Meal can be composted, mulched, or made into a tea and used as a foliar feed. Use as a general fertilizer to enhance microbial activity in the soil.

CocoEarth Bricks

Just add warm water to a bucket with one of these compressed coco fibre bricks in it and you get a soft, fluffy, sweet-smelling material suitable for top-dressing lawns, flowerbeds. and containers or replacing peat moss in a starter mix. Made from the fiberous material surrounding coconuts, this is a sustainable peat moss replacement. No chemicals are used in its manufacture. Holds on to water well without getting soggy. This brick is 32cm wide, 14cm tall, and 32cm long.

Compost Tea Bags

These OMRI-listed, all-natural tea bags can be used to brew liquid plant food for use indoors in your garden, or they can be inserted directly into the soil to act as a root zone fertilizer in containers, hanging baskets, or garden beds.

Dolomite Lime

It's very likely that if you haven't added lime to your soil in the last three years that the soil pH will be acidic if you live near the Coast. This pelleted lime product covers an area of 300 square feet, and raises the pH (lowers the acidity) to a neutral level more conducive to growing vegetables and other plants. It contains a mix of naturally occurring magnesium phosphate and calcium phosphate. Make sure to lime 3 weeks prior to planting. We recommend liming at least once every three years.

Fish Bone Meal 9~4~1

An excellent, if somewhat whiffy, source of phosphorus for root and flower development. Fish bone meal is also a good source of calcium, and it's highly packed with micronutrients not usually present in NPK fertilizers. A good alternative to bone meal.

Flaxseed Meal

100% Canadian milled flaxseed offers a great alternative to bone meal as a soil additive. Use it when transplanting, and as a bulb food. Dig some into your garlic bed! Recommended application: 2-3 kg/10 square meters. NPK: 5/2/1. This item comes in a package that is 10cm wide x 8cm tall x 13cm long.

Gaia All Purpose Blend 4~4~4

Gaia Glacial Rock Dust 0~0~1

Glacial Rock Dust is a natural mineral product which is produced over many thousands of years by glacial action. A wide variety of rocks which contain a broad spectrum of trace minerals are collected and pulverized by the expansion/contraction action of the glacier. As the glacier recedes, it leaves behind deposits of “glacial moraine”. These deposits are mined, dried, and screened for agricultural and horticultural re-mineralization.

Gaia Green Glacial Rock Dust can replace key elements that have been depleted from soil over the years. Replacing these missing minerals increases soil vitality which produces healthier plants. Gaia Seabird Guano 10~8~4

Beneficial where major nutrient deficiencies are present, and vigorous growth is required. Seabird guano contains numerous trace minerals due to the high fish diet of the birds. Caution should be used because of the ammonia content which will burn roots if over applied. Not recommended for containers.

Gaia Steamed Bone Meal 2~11~0

Garden Combination Inoculant

Treats 2.3kg (5 lbs) of peas, beans (including favas), sweet peas, or vetch.

This fine black powder contains beneficial micro-organisms that attach to roots of legumes such as peas and beans. They create swellings on the roots that make atmospheric nitrogen available to plants for their growth instead of from the soil or purchased nitrogen fertiliser. Wet the seeds in a bowl outside, with 1/4 teaspoon water to 56 grams of seed (3 Tablespoons to 500g) and add the inoculant powder. Use the moistened seed within 24 hours. Humik

Humik is 100% organic, granular soil amendment that contains humic acid derivatives. It increases organic matter content in the root zone, reduces leaching of nutrients, and promotes microbial activity in the soil. 

Kelpman Liquid Kelp

Kelp beds off Port Hardy are harvested for top, actively-growing fronds. This seaweed contains micronutrients, as well as growth-stimulating substances that improve the overall vigour and stress resistance of plants. Dilution is 200 to 1, so the bottle lasts a long time. The "A" size is 7cm wide x 7cm tall x 19cm long. The "B" size is 8cm wide x 8cm tall x 24cm long.

Liquid Organic Fresh Fish Fertilizer

Looks and flows like chocolate milk but don't drink it! It has a light fish odour. This deliciously nutritious fertilizer made from fresh fish treated with an organic non-GMO enzyme and low temperature hydrolysis, twice filtered, and stabilized with phosphoric acid to target a pH range of 3.5-3.8.
