Wildflowers
Bloom time: Spring to frost.
Technically, wildflowers are herbaceous flowering plants that can reproduce and become established without cultivation. They can be native or indigenous species but can also be non-local cultivars. Our wildflower blends are colourful and beautiful as well as beneficial for your garden. Wildflower blends are used by landscapers, garden designers, and landscape architects to fill in large spaces (or small ones!) with low-maintenance plants that will bloom over a long period and return in the years to come. Planting wildflowers has the added benefit of providing much needed forage space for pollinators. The bees will thank you by nesting nearby and helping pollination occur smoothly in your own garden.
Alternative Lawn Wildflower Blend
Use this blend as an alternative to lawn. It forms a low-gropwing, dense ground cover composed of fine fescues, flowers, and clover speceis, and provides a colourful and less demanding alternative to traditional grass lawns. Contains 13 species that wil fill in spaces fairly rapidly and return to bloom from year to year.

Bee Garden Blend
Bees and flowering plants evolved together millions of years ago. We could not have one without the other. Although bees face many challenges in this age of global weather change, at West Coast Seeds we believe that the simple act of sowing the seeds of plants that bees and other pollinators love to forage on is a critically important step in helping to ensure they, the whole planet, and we have a future.
The Bee Garden Blend is specially blended by our Certified Bee Master for use in managed landscapes such as disused laneways, verges, or along the edges of cultivated areas in residential or agricultural properties.

Butterfly Blend
The brilliant colours and longevity of this blend are selected to attract and keep the butterflies coming back day after day. Made up of 25 species it is approximately 50% annuals and 50% perennials. This means lasting flowers, bright colours and butterflies for many seasons to come. The Butterfly Mixture will also attract many species of wildlife to the bed. Be prepared to enjoy the ever-changing colours of flowers and wildlife that will visit them.

Coastal Revegetation Mix
This is a premium revegetation, broad-spectrum seed mixture for revegetation and erosion control uses in the Pacific Northwest Region of B.C. The Coastal Revegetation Mix is a blend of 12 carefully selected grasses and legumes. Legumes are enhanced with a Quick Grow Inoculant. Use as is, or mix with wildflowers for a practical & stunning display. Quick Grow inoculant is certified organic. Distribution rate for this product is 80kg/hectare or 80 lbs/acre. This mix grows 24-36" tall depending on soil fertility, moisture, and light.

Deer Resistant Mix
A blend of 17 wildflowers that are not preferred food sources for deer or are resilient to being foraged. In times of weak grazing deer may still nibble on these plants, but the contents of this blend were chosen for their resilience to deer. Great for planting on the islands and Interior, where deer can be a real nuisance.

Knee~High Meadow Wildflower Blend
This wildflower mix generally grows less than 60cm (24") tall, providing a tidier appearance than some of the taller mixeds. Great for residential or commercial landscaping where height is a consideration.

Low Growing Field Blend
This mix has 25 species: 70% annual and 30% perennial. They are blended for their natural beauty, long flowering period, and low growing characteristics. Under normal growing conditions the wildflowers in this mix will reach a height between 18" to 24". It is ideal for an area where you want to see the flowers' beauty but not hide other areas of the garden.

Moist Soil Wildflower Blend
Use this mix in any spot where the ground is unusually damp - low areas, drainage catchments - anywhere that other flowers might not normally flourish. The 18 species of annuals, biennials, and perennials in this blend also thrive in areas with 75cm (30") of rain per year.

Pacific Northwest
This mix of annuals and perennials blooms freely in the sun with little or no care once established. Beginning in the early spring and continuing through the summer this blend provides a changing show of colours and textures. Pacific Northwest Wildflowers is a magnificant blend.

Partial Shade Mix
For those hard-to-establish areas that are shaded; this mix will work very well with about 40% sunshine. All flowers do best in full sun, but the ones in this Partial Shade Mix will flourish and prosper with filtered sun. The mix is made up of 17 species, of which annuals make up approximately 55% and the perennial/biennials make up 45%. This mix grows to a height of 60-75cm (24-30").

Perennial Mix
All perennials in this mix! 17 species will provide many colours for years of enjoyment. When fall planted, the flowers will blossom the following spring. When spring planted, if the conditions are right, there will be some flowering, but most will not flower until the following spring. The advantage of spring or summer planting is that the plants have a well-established root system for the following spring. This mix will grow to an approximate height of 90-110cm (36-40") under normal conditions.

Rocky Mountain Native Blend
Do you need a blend for altitudes of 2,000m (7,000') or higher? Choose this selection of 14 wildflowers from the Rocky Mountains that will thrive in central BC, the northern Prairies, and western United States. Colour from spring 'til frost!

Short Meadow Wildflower Blend
18 species of flowering plants that will not grow taller than 25cm (10") tall, but will fill a large space with a magnificent carpet of colour from spring 'til frost and then remain green right through into winter. This mix of annuals and perennials will then return the following spring, blooming as early as late March.

Xeriscaping Wildflower Seed Blend
Conserve water by planting varieties that (once established) need little or no further irrigation to thrive. This selection of 18 drought tolerant species can be used anywhere in Canada or the Western United States where the elevation is below 2,000m (7,000'). It will bloom throughout the driest weather and return year after year.
