Phacelia

Bloom time: Spring and summer.

Phacelia has long been used as an agricultural cover crop, or "bee crop," as its nectar-rich flowers are intensely attractive to bees. The flowers open over an extended period, and also attract hoverflies and other beneficial insects that prey on aphids and similar pests. This furry-leafed plant is a relative of borage in the family Borainaceae.
