Lobelia
Few plants work so well as borders to beds, in containers, and in hanging baskets as the lovely Lobelias. The rich blue shades of Lobelia flowers are very attractive to beneficial insects, and the plants will bloom until frost. Lobelias are compact and low growing - perfect for tucking between specimen plants or for mixing with Alyssum and using as a mulch against weeds between rows of vegetables.
Crystal Palace
Fantastic as an edger, in pots, hanging baskets, or in large mass plantings, Crystal Palace Lobelia is a dwarf, compact variety that grows to only 20cm (8") in low clumps. Deep purple/blue flowers appear from spring to the first hard frost. Crystal Palace grows well in full sun or partial shade.
Midnight Blue
Vivid navy blue flowers adorn this tiny, trailing Lobelia, making it ideal for stuffing between other plants as a ground cover. The flowers are highly attractive to bees and butterflies. Grow this early flowering type in full sun or part shade, in a wide range of soils.
