Phacelia flowers are amazing! They begin tightly curled and open backwards as they mature. Beloved by all beneficial insects and bees. The lacy foliage is very attractive.

Season: Warm season.
Exposure: Full-sun, sun, part-shade.
Zone: Hardy from zone 3 to 10.

 

Planting

Sow the seeds where they are to grow after your last frost. The plants grow about 60cm (24") tall and are very bushy so do not sow too thickly.

Growing Tips

This vigorous, happy plant can be grown to provide compost as well as being used as a summer cover crop. The plants are easy to pull and will self-sow, meaning that you can gather their seeds. They do not become a weed in the garden. The purple flowers are fragrant and beloved by bees!
